The Night Watchman (July 1, 1893)

By David Schleper

According to Daniel M. Storer’s diary:

“The night watchman got shot at in the night. He saw a couple of fellows in an alley, and he called to them to halt, and they shot at him and ran. The ball went through his hat.”
